Established in 2004, the Preservation Department of the William R. and Norma B. Harvey Library prolongs the useful life of library materials in all media, providing increased access to information for current and future patrons. The Preservation Department is responsible for the following activities:

Prevention and mitigation of environmental hazards
Handling, transportation, and storage of collections
Conservation treatment of original materials
Emergency preparedness and response
Digitized collections
