The mission of the Harvey Library Preservation Department is to prolong the useful life of library materials in all media, providing increased access to information for present and future patrons.
The activities of the Preservation Department are designed to prevent or reduce the chemical and physical deterioration of library materials and to retain the maximum amount of information therein. These activities range from repairing original items to providing a stable environment for collections in all media.
